The Knights grinded out a 15-play over the final four minutes, capping it with a drive 6-yard touchdown run by Willie Walker to secure the victory. The Wolverines (0-1) made it interesting late when Keyon Garmon scored on a 7-yard run with 5:04 left to trim Oakleaf’s lead to 21-20. Junior receiver Marcus Johnson had touchdown runs of 32, 29, and 13 yards, all of which came on direct snaps and handed the Wolverines their first loss playing as Westside. “Very important,” said Oakleaf head coach Derek Chipoletti. “That’s a good football team. Rodney (Dubose) is doing a great job over there. We’re just happy to get out with a W.” Johnson finished with four carries for 82 yards. He also led the Knights in receiving with three grabs for 51 yards. Amari Dubose led Westside with 117 rushing yards on 17 carries.
