Quarterback Blake Bortles, chosen by the Jaguars with the third pick in the NFL draft last month, said he thought he would be selected by the Browns one pick later.

Bortles, participating this weekend in a NFL Play 60 rookie symposium at the Browns practice fields in Berea, Ohio, told The News-Herald in suburban Cleveland: “The pre-draft visit [to Jacksonville] went really well and I made some good connections, but there was nothing further than that. I had no idea. I was as surprised as anybody else when they called me.

“I definitely thought there was more of a possibility I’d be here than Jacksonville, but that’s not the way it turned out and I couldn’t be happier to be where I am.”

The Browns, who had the No. 4 pick, ended up trading that selection to Buffalo and eventually picked high-profile quarterback Johnny Manziel with the No. 22 pick. Manziel this past week shrugged off his image as a player who likes to party and said he sees no reason to change.

“He’s definitely in a whole other light than I’m in,” Bortles said of Manziel. “He’s way more under the microscope. He’s way more of a celebrity than me. He’s got a lot of stuff to deal with that I don’t have to.”

It doesn't really matter what

It doesn't really matter what you do off the field as long as it doesn't effect what you do on the field.
It's really nobodys business what you in your personal life.
Just don't pull a JB on us and everything should be just fine.
