Details of MJD's contract emerge

The National Football Post has obtained details of the contract Maurice Jones-Drew signed with the Oakland Raiders on Friday, ending his eight-year stay with the Jaguars.

It’s a three-year deal worth a potential $7.5 million.

Jones-Drew was reportedly asking for $3-3.5 million per year last week, but he was smart in bringing his asking price down so he could get on a roster.

The deal

This year: $1.2 million base and $1.3 million bonus ($2.5 million cap hit)

Next year: $2.4 million base and $100,000 bonus ($2.5 million cap hit)

2016: $2.4 million base and $100,000 bonus ($2.5 million cap hit)

It appears this year’s base salary is guaranteed and the potential bonus monies are the incentives that Jones-Drew mentioned in his conference call with Bay Area reporters on Friday night.

Many Thanks for his contributions but he would be better off with Jags. Cal taxes will kill him. Gerhart a question mark. LJO

EMMA: SOL SAID, "I come here not to condemn the Jaguars, but to save them!"

We've got to get this humble genius a job with Shad. I have no doubt his "passionate pleas" will be seen and heard and acted on by the Jags front office. I know this because I have it on good authority they monitor him and FORTY SUX and a couple others here with the express hope they can learn how to manage the team.

My good authority is SOL and FORTY SUX themselves. Must be true.

Here is a good breakdown on him. We need to get one done like this on Blaine. But watching Blaine at the game this Sunday I will make my own decision on him. I have had it up to my eyebrows with the excuses for him. Another 12 for 20 and 150 yard day and it is time for Blaine to warm the bench.

Surf, a perfect example by GH above. After a three game sampling he's second guessing the Blackmon pick. By the way, it doesn't hurt that Jeffery and Rainey have Cutler and Brady throwing to them, imagain what JB could do if we had one of them here at QB. Put on your floppy shoes and rubber nose SOS.

SOS, you got me... My early onset dementia kicked in and I got my Gator wires crossed with Demps and Rainey. The point remains the same, you have a three game sampling on all of the rookies and AJ and CR have far superior QBs throwing to them than what we have. Comparing JB's lack of production to other wide outs right now is premature.

Yes, BG was a bust and we knew way back then (Sept 2012), just like JB was a poor pick, and predraft, w/o a face to face, we knew Jefferey was the better bet!
This wasn't hind sight, people. Some GM's take a year longer ( or two) than regular fans take, to discover that a QB is lost to dysfunction. Now henne, he is GREAT! hehehe

@ Emma Any spin is to show another take, mine and others (cut/paste) which vary from the BIG TEAL KOOLADE Machine which is bigger and more influencial. My only hope is that my passionate pleas are heard, thought about, and acted upon IF prudent. I come here not to condemn the Jaguars, but to save them!

@ California Jaguar: Every time you buy, wear or see that logo, remember, in 1994 it was FIRST on a sign I made and displayed on National TV, at Miami Arena in the East Regional Elite 8 game vs BC(when Hill fouls out), and used as a cone for screaming instructions to players from a courtside seat (stolen from the emptied Miami U section), up and down each isle (to get to both ends of the court). "Take it away" made the 4 guards get more perimeter pressure from all the gators that day...and they shot over 40% during the season on 3's, made 50 of 53 in front of Knight warming up, and was the "giant killer" in ousting North Carolina. Lon Kruger coached the "not highly recruited" players to that 1st Final Four, beating UConn and the refs in the sweet 16 games and up by 30 vs Duke, before losing by 5. Duke lost to Arkansa... which takes this to:
The rest of the story: Andrew Declerc, At Arkansas, had his legs taken out from him numerous times w/o fouls called, so to motivate the players the sign Read: How Sueeeeeeet It Is! CBS For the Real BEAST of ball... and yes, the teeth and green Gator you now enjoy was born. The logo change was made that spring, Spurrier Wear had similar scales, and the NY Ad Agency had direction... just like my direction to that team, and Lon when he had Anderson in..."get him outta there" after Anderson lost the ball. Craig Brown hit 3-3s in a row late to seal the deal...I returned home and set sales records that week, was pumped up for months and now you have....the rest of the story!
