Update: Play is currently under way.

Earlier:

The final round of The Players Championship was suspended at 5:39 by a strong thunderstorm moving across North Florida but the 11 players remaining on the course were released to warm up at 6:50 p.m. and play will resume at 7:10 p.m.

The final pairing of the day, Jordan Spieth and Martin Kaymer were playing the par-4 14th hole at the time the horn sounded. Kaymer, who has a three-shot lead over Jim Furyk, faced a 31-foot putt at the 14th and Spieth, who had fallen back to 11 under with two bogeys, had a 49-footer.

Furyk has a 2-foot putt for par at No. 18 to close out a round of 66.

The delay is the second in consecutive years at The Players, and the third in four years. Inclement weather forced a third round delay last year with Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods four holes from finishing. They came back and finished their round early Sunday.
