Car slams into front door of Jacksonville Beach bar Friday night

Posted: July 26, 2014 - 5:53pm

A Jacksonville Beach bar is looking a little worse for the wear after a traffic accident sent a car barreling into its front door late Friday.

It happened about 11:30 p.m. Friday night or about 1 a.m. Saturday morning, depending on whether you ask witnesses or police. What both agree on, though, is that two vehicles collided in the 300 block of 3rd Street, launching a hatchback vehicle over the sidewalk and onto the front door step of Ginger's Place.

There were no injuries reported, police said. There was, however, damage to the premises.

"We had to pull the guys out of the window," said Amanda Clark, a bar manager who was present Friday night but not working.

Still, Clark said it could have been a lot worse. "We're lucky our door man wasn't there. He was sick."

This doesn't make it as a headlined story under 'Just In' or 'Top News', but an AP story about a guy in NYC beating up on police does.

No wonder this paper is failing...outside of the lack of editorial grammar checking, spelling errors, and basic writing skills.
