Former Jacksonville corrections officer arrested in contraband case

A former corrections officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a correctional facility.

Francisco Jorge Rodriguez, whose age was not provided, was terminated in February for cause and was on probation when the investigation began, the Sheriff’s Office said.

He was on probation for falsifying his employment application.
