An crash that closed Interstate 295 in both directions at Atlantic Boulevard Friday occurred when a sport-utility vehicle and camper overturned in the highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Investigators said Linda Preyer Spence, 64, of New Smyrna Beach was northbound near Atlantic when she lost control of the Toyota Sequoia about 11:25 a.m.

The SUV struck the guardrail, causing the camper to jackknife and overturn on one side. The camper pulled the SUV backward, causing it to flip on top of the guardrail. The camper remained in the roadway.

Spence, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured, according to the Highway Patrol.
